Clothespins are a staple in many classrooms. Most of us just use a Sharpie to number them or write student's names on them. Here is a simple way to add a touch of fun and whimsy to the clothespins you use in your classroom. They make great gift tags too!
Items to Gather:
- stamping ink, I recommend StazOn
- clear stamps
- clear stamp block
- ribbon, optional
Step 1: Choose the clear stamp desired, peel it carefully from the clear backing and attach it to the clear block. You can also use peg stamps, like the ones in the picture. These are all supplies that can be found in the $1.00 bin at Michaels!
Step 2: Dab the stamp onto the ink pad.
Step 3: Position the stamp over the clothespin, carefully aligning it to where you want the image. Press down firmly on the clothespin and then straight back up again. Don't wiggle or press too hard or your image might blur. It might take a little trial and error to find the right pressure. Using the clear stamps really allows you to get the image in a precise spot, which is critical when stamping on such a small object.
Step 4: Further embellish the clothespin if desired with Sharpie marker, glitter glue (I recommend Stickles) or ribbon.
