DIY Field Trip Kit

Do you want to make sure your next field trip goes off without a hitch?  Make these field trip kits, and you and your chaperones will have everything you need to take care of all those little emergencies!
 Items to Gather:
  • Ziploc Bags (gallon size and  sandwich)
  • Kleenex
  • Medical Gloves
  • Bandaids
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Disinfectant  Wipes
  • Hand and Face Wipes
  • Small Snack
  • Disposable Camera (or ask chaperones to bring their own)

1. Make a small first aid kit in a sandwich size Ziploc bag.  I usually include: bandaids, guaze, and medical gloves.  I also include a gallon size Ziploc in each first aid kit.  This is handy if anyone gets carsick on the bus:(
2. Put first aid kit, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, hand and face wipes, snacks, and disposable camera into a gallon size Ziploc.
1. Download and print out labels for your field trip kits.  I made several to choose from.

Other Tips/Suggestions:
My first priority when I take my students on a field trip is their safety.  I always take a picture with my digital camera of my entire class before we get on the bus.  This is way if the unthinkable happens I have a picture of each student and know exactly what they are wearing.

I always bring a backpack for myself, that includes a larger first aid kit, some garbage bags (to use as ponchos in case we get caught in the rain), new boy/girl underpants, and a couple of pairs of sweat pants in case of any "accidents".

Give your chaperones a lanyard with the day's itinerary, a list of the students in their group, and any other important information they will need to have a successful day.

Have Fun!
